The onset of unforgiving winter compelled me to shelf the roll, tuck and pin hair styling challenge. For those who may not know – l am very challenged (but getting better) when it comes to styling my light density 4c hair. Last summer I resolved to attempt 30 roll, tuck and pin hair styles in order to learn how to work with my hair and also inspire those of similar texture. Consistent workouts mean I have to co-wash my hair to rinse the salt (sweat) a lot in the summer so daily styling is not necessarily a priority especially because my shrinkage is beyond belief. I style my hair whenever I can (I am unwilling to give up exercising), which is why I only managed 15 styles last summer {see all styles here}.
And so the challenge progresses and is hopefully completed this summer. On day 16 I isolated the bang and then randomly pinned big chunks of hair towards the top of my head right underneath the bang. I pulled the bang towards my forehead and pinned parts of it downward to keep shrinkage at bay for the day. The texture on the bang is from routine night braids.
